No tool can guarantee acceptance. ScholarAI helps maximize your manuscript's technical quality so it clears similarity checks, AI detection, and structural reviewer criteria. Research quality and journal fit are ultimately up to you.

Is my manuscript data private and secure? ▾

Yes. Your manuscript text is processed via Anthropic's API and is not stored on our servers. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties.

Can I cancel anytime? ▾

Yes — cancel anytime from your account. Your access continues until the end of your billing period. No cancellation fees, ever.

Do you support local payment methods? ▾

We currently accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and digital wallets (Google Pay, Apple Pay) in USD. Local payment methods for select countries are coming soon — email hello@getscholarai.study to be notified.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Manuscript text: Text you paste or upload is sent directly to Anthropic's API for processing. It is NOT stored on ScholarAI servers.
Email address: If you contact us at hello@getscholarai.study or subscribe to a paid plan.
Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. ScholarAI never sees or stores your card details.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage analytics: We use PostHog and/or Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data (pages visited, features used, session duration, country). No personally identifiable information is linked to these analytics.
Server logs: Vercel (our hosting provider) collects standard server logs including IP addresses and timestamps. These are retained per Vercel's own privacy policy.
Cookies: We use essential cookies for functionality and analytics cookies (with your consent where required by law).

4. Your Manuscript Content

Your manuscript text is transmitted to Anthropic's API (claude.ai API) for AI processing. Anthropic's use of API data is governed by their Privacy Policy and API Usage Policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models by default. ScholarAI does not retain, read, or store any manuscript content you submit.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Anthropic — to process your manuscript analysis requests
Stripe — to process payments
Vercel — to host and deliver the application
PostHog / Google Analytics — anonymized analytics only
Legal authorities — when required by applicable law

6. Data Retention

Manuscript text: Never stored — processed in real-time only
Email/support correspondence: Retained as long as necessary to resolve your request
Payment records: Retained by Stripe per their policies and applicable law
Analytics data: Anonymized, retained for up to 24 months

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email hello@getscholarai.study.

ScholarAI is an AI-powered academic manuscript improvement tool that provides similarity estimation, AI detection analysis, citation recommendations, paraphrase assistance, research gap identification, and citation validation. ScholarAI is an independent tool and is not affiliated with any academic publisher.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use ScholarAI only for lawful purposes. You agree NOT to:

Submit content that infringes intellectual property rights
Use the service to generate academic misconduct (submitting AI-generated work as entirely your own in violation of your institution's policies)
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API
Resell or redistribute ScholarAI outputs as a standalone service
Submit malicious content, personal data of others, or confidential information of third parties

3. Academic Integrity

ScholarAI is designed to improve your original research writing — not to write research for you. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of ScholarAI complies with your institution's academic integrity policies. ScholarAI does not guarantee acceptance by any journal or institution.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid plans (Pro and Ultimate) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
You may cancel anytime from your account settings; access continues to the end of the billing period
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card information
Prices are shown in USD and may be subject to local taxes

5. Refund Policy

All subscription payments are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello@getscholarai.study within 14 days of the charge and we will review your request.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

ScholarAI is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that: (a) similarity or AI detection estimates will match results from Turnitin, iThenticate, or any third-party tool; (b) suggested citations are accurate, complete, or verifiable; (c) the service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (d) use of ScholarAI will result in journal acceptance.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScholarAI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to manuscript rejection, loss of research data, or academic consequences.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of your manuscript content. ScholarAI retains ownership of its software, design, and AI prompting systems. Journal publisher names (Elsevier, Emerald, IEEE, etc.) are referenced for informational purposes only under nominative fair use.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by emailing hello@getscholarai.study.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable international commercial law. Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved via good-faith communication at hello@getscholarai.study.
